A Fo a Day: Polar Morn Shrug
Oh my goodness at a FO a day I feel like I've run out of things to say! Luckily this one doesn't need much explanation. I suppose it's only fitting that I should end my Fo a Day week with another malabrigo FO, 3 out of 5 this week were all made with malabrigo!
I was very inspired by craftoholic's version - I am such a HUGE fan of grey shrugs that I had another must-cast-on moment and went searching for the same yarn - malabrigo worsted in polar morn. It was sold out everywhere but fellow knit bud Hilary came through for me - her yarn store carried it and she ran down and picked up the last two skeins! Aren't knit buds the greatest? Thanks so much Hilary! =)
This was a fun and easy knit - the brioche stitch is easily memorizable and the way it's designed you only have to change needle sizes to increase and decrease- easy peasy. I did lengthen it overall by about 8 inches so it would hit just past my elbows to be more flattering. You can add the length in any section but I chose the 10.5.
I have to be honest, it turned out a smidge small on me since I'm so tall I have wider shoulders. I haven't decided what to do - if I'm going to give it away or let it marinate.
Details as always on ravelry. That concludes my Fo a Day for 5 days series - I hope you enjoyed it! I feel so much lighter now that I've organized my WIP queue and pending projects for the end of the month. Now to get my next projects I want to start ready to go. Happy Friday and Leap Day all!

That's really gorgeous. I think I will put it on my queue.
Along with the other million or so things on there;)

It's gorgeous! The slight variegation of the Malabrigo makes the sweater look so rich!

I'm not much of a shrug person, but that looks really great. And it must be pretty comfy too, with all that Malabrigo!

I have been so looking forward to seeing this and was hoping it would be one of your FO's this week! It's gorgeous, Keri!! Is there any way you can stretch it out a little bit with blocking so it might fit better?
Anyway, I'm so glad the yarn worked out. :)

Its gorgeous, and interesting too, grey is hugely underrated. Well done on your epic FO week, it made for fun and inspiring reading! Kudos!

Yes! Such a lovely color for the shrug.
I also fell in love with craftoholic's version and (just my luck) have two skeins of Malabrigo (in merino worsted, Frost Gray)--currently knitting it!
I really hope there's something you can do with it to keep it!

It must feel great to have so many fos! The BSJ and booties are my favorite, too cute! And the shrug will probably stretch a bit; hopefully it'll fit a little later. :-)

Love your FO's! Everything came out lovely! The shrug looks so cozy, the hat chic and warm, and the baby set is just too cute! I saw the pics up close on Flickr. Nice work! Give the puppity dawgs a hug from me!

That is gorgeous! I wish I could make this project, but I haven't quite mastered the whole sleeve thing yet, hopefiully one day soon! I think I would use a similar colour aswell, it's very flattering.
