How about instead of a free pattern friday we have a freebie friday this week? I have a brand-new copy of the super cute Anna Tunic by Amy Butler. I've been on a sewing my own clothes binge lately as part of my simple living. I've found it rewarding to learn more about how clothes are constructed and how to sew something to fit my body.
Now you can do the same! I have a copy of the Anna Tunic by Amy Butler up for grabs.
Leave a comment on this post if you're interested and tell us why you like to sew your own clothes, or alternately, why you'd like to try.
I'll leave it open over the weekend and announce the winner Monday. Open to anyone and everyone, and I'll ship anywhere.
What a wonderful giveaway!!
I've knit my own clothes and sewn quilts - but have been thinking about sewing some pieces too, just haven't figured out where to start. It seems like a great way to make something peronal and save some money. That and anything I see in a store has a Made in China label on it and I find that very disappointing. It would be wonderful to sew a garment with fabric that's manufactured in North America by a designer like Amy Butler. :)

I love to sew because it gives me the opportunity (or my daugther's !!) not to have the same clothes as everybody else's. It gives you a mean to express your personality - either with the choice of a nice fabric or nice buttons. That is also why I like knitting !

Oh, I like to sew clothes just because I can! :) It isn't cheap, esp. when I mess up, but it's fun!

I just love taking a yard or two of gorgeous fabric that is otherwise pretty useless and turning it into something functional. If it can be beautiful to boot, all the better! Creating something out of nothing feels great.

What a great giveaway! I have been tempted to buy that pattern many times. I love being able to have clothes that fit, and home-sewn clothes are always better quality than store-bought. I have the perfect fabric for that tunic ;-)

Such a cute pattern! I haven't really sewn any clothes for myself, but I have this really nice snazzy sewing machine that I should really use more often. :)

I have my mom's old (as in, it was used to teach sewing in high schools decades ago) sewing machine. I am TERRIFIED of it. A cutie-pie tunic like this would go a long way towards easing my fear. :D

I have eyed that pattern on my girlfriends blog but never bought it!
Thanks for the offer.

I have been wanting to sew more of my own clothes, but I'm always afraid to tackle a pattern that's over my head. Amy's patterns, though, are all very clear and easy to understand, so I think this is one I could do!
