I need a new hobby like I need a hole in the head most likely but yet I couldn't resist! As a early birthday gift (I'm turning 30 in october! the big 3-0!) hubby ordered me something I had been wanting for a very long time
A Flip loom! A 20 inch flip loom to be exact, with 8,10 and 12 dent heddles. I immediately tried to figure out the warping instructions.
And before I knew it, I had started a scarf (in blue moon bella coola STR Mediumweight). A few evenings work and it's done! My yarn better start hiding, I'm starting to eye everything in my stash as a potential weaving project. Nothing will be safe for long!

NICE!!! a few of my spinning friends have FLIPs too and they all love it! and the STR looks verrrrry NICE all woven up! hubby is one smart man. and looking forward to welcoming you to the 3-0 club! (i turned 30 in march.) xo.

Very cool! I've started to look sideways at spindles...
How can you be only 29? Ugh, I feel old now :)
Love that Bella Coola - turned mine into a BSJ for my nephew last year - beautiful color changes.

Now that's a terrific birthday gift. Happy birthday!
After 29 I just started having anniversaries of my 29th birthday, sounded better somehow...

Ooooh, very very pretty!
Early happy birthday! I'm just about a year older than you are. :)

I've been wanting to start weaving for a while now but like you, I really don't need a new hobby. I've held it at bay so far but seeing other people's weaving is hard on my resolve. :-)

Oh, how cool! I can easily see the appeal of weaving, especially for a knitter. You still get to use gorgeous yarns, but...instant gratification! I can't wait to see the beautiful stuff you create!

Thanks Hilary! Instant gratification for sure! Now I have to carefully
consider, should I weave it or knit it choices, choices!

Yes, it¹s kind of like how spinning was for me I always said I had no
interest but seeing other people do it got me more and more
interested...weaving seems to be on that same track! =)
