For those of you who are spinners out there - you have probably heard of a really neat tool called a Woolee Winder. This fancy little tool winds on your handspun evenly, without having to stop and change hooks, allowing you to spin more quickly.
One of the down sides of this tool is that the takeup is a bit stronger than a traditional flyer. If you are interested in spinning thinner with the woolee winder, here's a neat little trick. Take the handspun and pull it over the right flyer arm as shown below. Instantly takeup will be reduced and the diameter of the yarn you are spinning will cut right in half!
Happy Spinning!
your spinning looks gorgeous... :o)

Hi - I only first heard of the Woolee Winder this morning. Had a look at them and read some comments. I have only been spinning for the past 6 months and am going on another 2 day course in July. I have an Ashford Joy (and love it). Would love your personal reaction to the Woolee Winder and whether or not you'd recommend it to me (hard call I realise without having seen my current spinning abilities). Still; would love to hear more. And...thanks already for the above tip; will definitely bear it in mind if I do decide to buy one! Thanks in advance...Linda

Hi Linda - I really love the woolie winder. Out of all the spinning tools I've bought this one is my consistent favorite.
I'd definitely recommend the winder to you when you're able to spin consistent singles without breaking or having the yarn split apart and pull away from you while spinning. The woolie winder has a bit more of a tug to it than the regular intake and you need to be comfortable enough with your spinning to control it.
It can take a few months to get one shipped to you based on Nathan's availability/backlog so I'd definitely recommend ordering one sooner rather than later. I started off with 3 bobbins total, I wish I would have ordered 4 so I could have spun a 3-ply and had 1 extra bobbin to ply it all together on.
Happy spinning!
;) Keri
