When Abby would nap I would run around the house trying to take the opportunity to get everything done on my todo list. Laundry - check. Dishes - check. Make bed, sweep floors, check work email. Check check check! The list goes on and on. Until this last week, where suddenly she wouldn't sleep unless someone would hold her or was sitting next to her (I hear it's the 3 month sleep regression). She just wanted company and to be cuddled. And who could blame her?
Since that time I've had to re-learn to be still. I've been enjoying these quiet morning hours. To sit and enjoy the fleeting moments like this, cuddling with the baby in bed in the early morning hours. Sitting next to her, sipping coffee. Watching the birds at our feeder out the window. Watching the bees buzz over our garden. Crocheting a few rows. And I'm loving it. This embracing the moment and taking things how they come is a good thing.
How are you embracing the moment today?
what a sweet baby! a lot of my fondest memories with my first involve me napping on the sofa with him on my chest. i didn't get that much with my second b/c i had another to chase around by then. enjoy your little cutie pie.

So sweet! Enjoy your stillness - soon enough she'll be on the go all day long.
Could you send me your address? I have a little something for your little something :)

We all try to multi-task but lately I find it's an effort to mono-task, focus on one thing and be in the moment and do it well. I'm trying to absorb nature a little more, enjoy the sun and the warm air before winter sets in. It's very calming.

Just came upon this and I congratulate you for realizing how important it is to take the time to savor these precious moments. Your baby is so beautiful. You know for yourself how quickly they grow and these times will always come back to you no matter how old your children are.

I just came across this post while looking at your lovely crafts and it moved my heart. I have a little one who is growing much too quickly and it was a good reminder to me. Mothering is challenging but it helps to step back and look at the big picture once in a while to give credit to what we are actually doing, raising itty bitty people one day at a time.
