So what would be a vacation without travel knitting? Once I've decided to go that's one of the first things I think about. I always plow through my stash looking for a yarn I love and a nice, soothing mindless project.
In this case I unearthed some of my favorite handspun ever. This is BFL in colorway the foundation from the sweet georgia fiber club.
It started off as a eternity scarf but something wasn't quite right - it just wasn't showing off the yarn. So I ripped and ended up starting a Tiny Tea Leaves Cardi
Perfect!
I knit my way through California, the Grand Canyon.....
Sedona....
And before I knew it, it was done!
I even made tiny matching buttons myself - black sheep, white sheep
Washed and blocked it...and now we're all set!
More details on ravelry if you're interested.
Happy spinning and knitting! :)

Beautiful! That yarn couldn't be more perfect if it tried. I love those buttons, how did you make them?

Super cute! I love the colors, and the pattern has such great texture at the yoke. Looks like a beautiful trip, too.

Love the Tiny Tea Leaves! I was so sad when my woman sized Tea Leaves Cardi turned out waaaay bigger than expected (gauge/needle size mishap). Looking at that tiny one makes me want to try again!

Oh what a bummer! I have a woman sized tea leaves queued for me too, to kinda match Abby after my current sweater project. I’ll have to be extra careful with gauge – I hate when that happens!

Thanks Crystal! I made the buttons with a special die press attachment with my snap machine. You cut the little fabric circle and press it into the button mold and voila! A button! It’s really neat! :) I’ll have a giveaway for some soon.

Hi Amanda! How did you read my mind? That's next on my list...a woman sized cardi for me although I don't think it will be all out of handspun, I would need a metric ton!

That yarn is gorgeous, Keri. I've got a notebook full of patterns to get out, and then I'm going to try spinning :) Can't wait to see an Abby model shot!
