Phew - it's been a rough month or so. Lots of busy busy things going on - Abby is teething with her first tooth so sleep has gone out the window. On top of that we had the time change so now I work an hour earlier. I start work at about 5:30am to get enough hours in before Abby wakes up. Couple that with working during every (non-existant) nap, my husband was traveling for 2 weeks for work. We had lots of family visiting (and showing around). He also has started back to his master's classes again full time at school plus working full time. So, it's busy, super super busy and I'm exhausted. I've had very little free time for myself.
In the few minutes I had, I've been working on my potholder swap project. I chose the gorgeous African Flower Mandala (free!) pattern and coupled it with Tahki Cotton Classic and my favorite hamanaka crochet hook. This was such an enjoyable pattern.
I had a bit of a rough start. I messed up on the instructions and ended up with 5 flower petals instead of 6 so I had to redo quite a few....
The colors are so bright and cheerful! It's like a big ray of sunshine! The potholders have been shipped off and I'm eagerly awaiting the swap and to see which ones they send in return. You can see my ravelry details here (with more photos). In the meantime I'm working on a new project...
The very simple and cute garter yoke cardi in peace fleece. I was totally inspired by this gorgeous version and this one. Can't decide on the button color! What do you think?
Happy Wednesday!

Wowza, that sounds like a pretty intense and exhausting month! I'll be thinking about you and hoping things settle down a bit! Your crochet work is absolutely stunning and I am in love with the bright colors. And the Garter Yoke Cardi...boy is that going to be gorgeous! I vote for turquoise buttons.

I really love the colours of your pot holders.
Sorry to hear life is being a bit of a struggle atm, hope things start to slow down for you.

Wow, those are totally beautiful! I hope you find a way to squeeze in some more downtime. It's so hard when your little ones are that small.

Beautiful work. Those rights are nice, but I tend to go more with the subtle colors in the cardi. My suggestion would be mother of pearl buttons, maybe in a shape other than round.

I just found your blog because I was googling for some specific info about the February Baby sweater I am about to start. Beautiful blog! But I was so flattered to see that you were inspired by my Peace Fleece Sweater! You made my day! :) I made the sweater a couple years ago and have since lost a little weight and it's too big, but I loved it and the yarn is so warm! I hope you love it as much as I did.

Hi Amy! Thanks so much for your comment! :) It's a beautiful sweater and although I messed up on the gauge on mine and it's a wee bit small, I still love it!
Thanks so much for stopping by! :)
