Yumm-y!

Tiennie was just talking the other day about her love affair with Malabrigo which doesn't suprise me, seeing as how I was just fondling a few skeins last week.  We always seem to be on the same wavelength knit-wise, she's always knitting something I was planning on knitting or vice-versa.

So I was moving in this weekend and the very first thing I did was start unpacking and bonding with my yarn (it had been too long!)  I pulled out two skeins of malabrigo worsted and could not put them down.  Those things are sooooft!

I had seen a scarf here that really inspired me, sometimes you have to get back to your knitting roots and knit some plain ol garter stitch in yummy yarn.  It's like knit meditation.

The un-structions are as follows - CO 22 stitches on size US8 needles (I like to knit scarves on straights or DPNs in my case since I can't find my straights.)  Knit every row until you run out of yarn or reach perfect knit-zenness and cast off.  I'll have to see if I knit 1 skein or 2, depending on how much yardage I get out of it and let you know.

OMMMMMMM...... =)

Flashing the Stash

I realize there is a yearly Flash your stash-aganza! and I always check out the pics and my stash feels a wee bit small in comparison.  But hey, I figured sooner or later I might as well take it all out and take a look and organize it.  Maybe convince the hubby I could use some more yarn =)  I also made the picture wayyy huge to... you know - overcompensate.

So, there it is in all it's yarny glory.  You'll see sock yarn in the top right, nicer yarns like rowan, euroflax, debbie bliss etc at the top, charity yarns on the top left and all the worsted wool at the bottom.  After doing a little counting I found out I have enough yarn to knit 2 sweaters, 9 pairs of socks, 4 lace shawls, 10 dishcloths and a partridge in a pear tree-eeee!  OH, excuse me there I got a little carried away with my singing =)
Anywho- I keep it all organized in two shelved units with glass doors and a underbed box for the miscellany.

Right Side - Door open & Door shut
(with all the knitting patterns organized in binders and the books as well)

Fun isn't it!?  Whew, I feel so liberated to put it all out on display, no longer hiding my dark secrets of a small stash...So come-on, do an off-season stash flash you'll feel better!  And if you do, leave a comment I'd love to see it!

Shhh

Shhh...I'm working on a bigger post with photos of Katie's gorgeous bags I just received from her Etsy store but I had to share this photo with you.  I've been working with Stephanie on gorgeous, custom hand-dyed yarn, named Virga for my 'opus' of this year, Eunny's Print o' the wave stole.  It's not in my hot little hands yet, but check out Stephanie's photos here.
